Power trip
Power Trip Repair in Singapore
Power keeps tripping or will not come back on? Send a request and an electrician who covers your area finds the fault and quotes before fixing it.
Why your power keeps tripping
A power trip is a breaker cutting power because it detected a problem. The usual causes are:
- A faulty appliance leaking current to earth, which trips the RCCB.
- Water in a socket, a fitting, an outdoor point or a water heater.
- An overloaded circuit, which trips that circuit's breaker (MCB).
- Damaged or ageing wiring.
The fix depends on which one it is, which is why the first job is fault finding, not replacing parts. Get a free estimate →

Try this before you call
- Whole block dark? Call SP Group on 1800 778 8888. It is a supply fault.
- Only your home? Open the DB box and see what is down: the RCCB or one breaker.
- Unplug everything on the affected circuits, then reset once.
- Still trips? Switch all circuit breakers off, reset the RCCB, then switch the breakers on one at a time. The one that trips it points to the faulty circuit. Tell the electrician which one.
- Trips immediately even with everything off? Stop. Do not keep resetting it and never bypass it. Send a request.
How it works

2. The electrician calls
They ask a few questions and give you a price for the visit.
3. Fault found
Diagnosis first, then a quote for the repair.
4. Fixed and tested
Ask for the LEW licence number and a receipt.

Power Trip Repair: Questions
Why does my power trip when it rains?
Water getting into an outdoor socket, a light fitting or a cable joint can leak current to earth and trip the RCCB. An electrician can find and seal the point.
Is a tripping RCCB faulty?
Not necessarily. A trip is the RCCB protecting you. Replacing it without finding the fault usually just means the new one trips too.
Who do I call for an HDB power trip?
If the whole block is affected, SP Group on 1800 778 8888. If it is only your flat, the fault is inside your home and needs an electrician.
